  3. You may  be aware that there have been database file format changes to 2 of
  4. the disk cataloging programs supported by DLS.  These changes are:
  5.  
  6. CatDisk: Version 6.30  increased the comment field from 30 characters to 43
  7.          characters.  Previous versions of DLS will report that a data file
  8.          produced by  this version is 'invalid' or 'corrupt'.  Version 3.00
  9.          of DLS  has been  updated to  be able  to  read  these  files  and
  10.          consequently will no longer be able to read data files produced by
  11.          versions of  CatDisk earlier  than 6.30.   If  you use DLS to read
  12.          CatDisk files, you must update to version 6.30 of CatDisk.

  14. Wssindex: Version 5.20  increased the  comment field  to a  maximum of 1023
  15.           characters.   Versions prior  to version 2.20 of DLS can read the
  16.           data files  produced by  this version  of Wssindex,  however, the
  17.           comments were  discarded.   Version 2.20  can read these comments
  18.           but a small bug truncated the comment to 255 characters.  Version
  19.           3.00 of  DLS has  been corrected  and can  read completely  in to
  20.           memory any comment field produced by Wssindex.
